FUND RAISING AND DEVELOPMENT

CLICK HERE TO ACCESS SOUTH EAST'S ONLINE DONATION WEBSITE

LEPRECHAUN LEAP BENEFIT INFORMATION PAGE

The South East Consortium generates approximately 18% of its annual operating budget through different fund raising projects and development initiatives.  This is a very competitive process especially during these tough economic times with many worthwhile organizations seeking donor dollars.

South East needs to sustain and hopefully enhance its ability to raise funds in order to expand program opportunities to an ever-increasing number of participants and families seeking support.

We always welcome assistance from individuals, groups and organizations who will volunteer time and energy to help develop and implement ways to raise money.  We continue to reach out for Foundation and Corporate Gifts, Program Sponsorships and Endowments, private donations (matching gifts) and different cost effective special events throughout the year.

Friends may make a donation to South East online by going to our website, www.secrec.org, and link to www.firstgiving.com/secrec.  All major credit cards are accepted and your donation is tax deductible as provided by law.

Thank you for your wonderful support.

MEDICAID FUNDING

As you probably know by now, the many programs and services South East provides to individuals (HCB Medicaid Waiver and Non-Waiver) who reside with their families at home are partially funded by Medicaid dollars under the classification of Basic Respite Services.  This funding shift was done by New York State nearly three years ago in an effort to cope with the looming state budget crisis.  Certainly South East is very grateful for this continued funding; however, being classified a basic respite service-provider does not accurately portray what it is we actually do!

South East prides itself on providing much needed therapeutic recreation programs and leisure services and there is nothing basic about them!  Our diverse programs and services incorporate a multitude of dynamics, enhancements and benefits.  We provide unique opportunities and life experiences in a specialized, participant-oriented manner.  There is an awful lot of teaching and learning taking place at South East.

In order to maintain the integrity and caliber of our programs and to better ensure the welfare of your family member while attending our programs, South East has been advised by state officials it is permissible to charge some modest fees for certain program expenses above the established Medicaid reimbursement (i.e., food, admissions, transportation, consumable supplies and some above and beyond specialized staffing).  If we were unable to do so it would seriously jeopardize our mission as a service-provider.

These additional fees are critical to our operating budget.  We are complying with all stated regulations as we understand them.  If it is deemed we are in error, then the necessary corrections will be made.  And, of course, we will do everything possible to assist those individuals in need of some financial help to attend our programs.

I appreciate your understanding and it is a pleasure to be of service to you.
