WHO WE SERVE

The South East Consortium proudly serves children and adults (age 4 and beyond) with various disabilities and special needs who reside in the following member municipalities:

Town and Village of Mamaroneck
Village of Larchmont
Town and Village of Scarsdale
Village of Port Chester
Town and Village of Harrison
Village of Rye Brook
Town of Eastchester
Village of Bronxville
Town of Pelham
Village of Tuckahoe
City of Rye

Persons with disabilities and special needs residing outside the member municipalities may also participate in South East Consortium programs on a space available basis after registration deadlines. Please contact the office for details.

Each of the member municipalities contribute tax dollars to the South East Consortium. Residency is based on which municipality to which you pay taxes, not by school district or mailing address. If you are unsure of member eligibility, please contact the office for assistance.

Due to the nature of our funding, an emphasis is placed on delivering programs and services to people diagnosised with developmental disabilities (i.e., mental retardation, autism, cerebral palsy, epilepsy or a neurological impairment). The South East Consortium receives significant financial support from the New York State Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities via a Family Support Services grant.

The South East Consortium understands its obligation to provide programs and services to people with other forms of disabilities, disorders, limitations and special needs and will make every effort to do so given the availability of resources, staff expertise and funding.

Because of the continual need for additional programs and services, the South East Consortium is constantly seeking collaborative opportunities to develop and implement more experiences for more participants. If, for whatever reason, the South East Consortium is unable to provide quality, appropriate, enriching, safe and enjoyable programs and services to an individual, we will act as a resource to assist in identifying other options.

The South East Consortium utilizes community-based resources including schools, municipal recreational facilities, civic organizations, commercial businesses and other human service agencies to serve as venues for its programs and services. Each venue is selected based on accessibility, location and appropriateness of the activity.
