Dear Friends and Families of the South East Consortium,

When you walk into a South East program, you see more than classes or activities—you see smiles, friendships, and people discovering what they can do. That’s what makes South East special. For over 40 years, it has been a place where children and adults with differing abilities are supported, celebrated, and given chances to grow. This year, though, the challenges around us are bigger than ever. The Department of Health is projecting a $13.5 billion annual shortfall because of lost federal funding and rising Medicaid costs. While people with developmental disabilities are not singled out in these cuts, the ripple effects will be felt everywhere. On top of that, changes in eligibility rules could mean fewer people are able to get the services they need.

That’s why South East matters now more than ever. Families count on us to keep programs affordable and consistent. To do that, we need to raise at least $75,000 this year— about 10% of our annual budget. It’s a small piece of the total, but it makes all the difference in making sure no family is priced out or left behind. Your support keeps doors open and dreams alive. Whether it’s a gift big or small, every dollar helps someone find joy, confidence, and community. And if your employer matches donations, your impact doubles.
