Funding Sources

The South East Consortium generates approximately 18% of its annual operating budget through different fund raising projects and development initiatives. This is a very competitive process especially during these tough economic times with many worthwhile organizations seeking donor dollars.

South East receives approximately 48% of its funding via New York State/Medicaid funding channels. With that funding come certain restrictions placed on South East as to assessing any modest program fees to families. Consequently, South East sometimes incurs significant revenue losses that are needed to deliver quality programs in an effective and safe manner. Medicaid does not allow South East to directly solicit parents to cover a program deficit, however we do accept tax-deductible donations in any amount to support our operating budget.

Please consider a donation to become a sponsor of any of our many wonderful programs. Because of Medicaid restrictions we rely on additional financial support to sustain the quality of our programs and services.

South East needs to sustain and hopefully enhance its ability to raise funds in order to expand program opportunities to an ever-increasing number of participants and families seeking support.

We always welcome assistance from individuals, groups and organizations who will volunteer time and energy to help develop and implement ways to raise money. We continue to reach out for Foundation and Corporate Gifts, Program Sponsorships and Endowments, private donations (matching gifts) and different cost effective special events throughout the year.

All major credit cards are accepted and your donation is tax deductible as provided by law. Friends may also donate through Donation of Securities. Gifts of appreciated securities are an excellent and generally tax efficient means for giving to the South East Consortium. When donating appreciated securities, a donor generally receives an income tax deduction for the full market value of the securities given. By donating the securities to South East rather than selling them, a donor can also avoid capital gains tax on the appreciation of these securities from their original basis. Please consult your individual tax advisor for more complete tax information and contact the South East office at (914) 698-5232 on how to proceed with your donation

Thank you for your wonderful support.
